Passwords, Passwords and more PasswordsMy life is password driven. Not easy passwords like 12345, but complex alpha-numeric passwords with symbols and capital letters. And not just one complex password but numerous ones for my I-Pad, my I-Phone, my wifi, my e-mail, my blog, this account that account. Now for someone who struggles to remember where my keys are at in the morning this becomes problamatic. Put all your passwords in a small notepad, you say. I did and now I can't find the notebook. There are programs that will remember your passwords - great, but they need passwords so I can access my passwords. I know that passwords are important, but still... At least the messagea of the Gospel has no special passwords or codes. It is straight forward and clear. St. John writes in his first epislte: "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." He goes on, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that is we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that hears us - whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of him." (1 John 5:13-15) Pretty clear. While I need a password to access my passwords, I simply need to believe in the name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, to have the assurance of eternal life. I can remember that! |
